I have fallen (on to Twitter) and I don’t want to get up!

Years ago the there was a commercial of an older lady lying on the floor of her house and she pushed her “Life Alert” button and said, “Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.” It became a joke even though the reality and need of it is very real. I must confess – I have fallen and I won’t get up! Of course I am specifically speaking in the area of social media (more specifically – Twitter!) Here’s my point…today, each individual has thousands and thousands of messages coming at them moment by moment MANY of which are negative and worldly! And I have a voice! God has allowed us in our time to have more opportunities to speak HIS Name and reach farther than any other time in history! Think about that again. Read that statement again. Okay, I know you won’t so I will type it again…God has allowed us in our time to have more opportunities to speak HIS Name and reach farther than any other time in history! GET THIS…God has placed you and I here, right here, right now – ALL FOR HIS PURPOSES AND HIS GLORY!!! (Sorry – soapbox!) So I have made a commitment to be a voice. My goal is to tweet every morning after my time in the Word. All for the purpose of accountability to myself (sharing what I am learning) and to others to speak the Name of Jesus and to do what HE calls us to do! Most people “follow” on Twitter people they like or are friends with. I try and do that plus “follow” other leaders and minsters. Most of the messages that I see on Twitter are futile for life. I have ONE life and I am not about to let it go by haphazardly. So I MUST be intentional! (Have you heard that on Sunday morning lately?) So maybe you want to join me in being a voice too! After all God has placed both of us here. I am tired of the negative and worldly messages. Join me in being a positive, godly voice in the world of social media (I don’t have time to rant about FACEBOOK messages! – ugh)

And if you want you can “follow” me on Twitter – @loggie495

Twitter advice for older folks:
1. Don’t just use it to read other people’s tweets. Tweet yourself – original thoughts.
2. Also favorite other people’s tweets.
3. Retweet other people’s tweets.
All this lets others know you are not just there to stalk or rant! Happy tweeting!!!

We Believe!

In a world that is constantly changing, where the church seeks to continue to have a voice that does not change its message, but seeks to affect those who are in the middle of a changing culture, it is VERY important to know what We Believe. That’s why beginning September 13th FC3 will be looking at specifically 10 things that “We Believe”! We will be figuring our exactly where we should stand as Believers. The world’s influence has confused too many who are a part of this group known as Believers. But this shouldn’t surprise us… for Paul said days like these were coming. (2 Timothy 4:3 – “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”) This word “sound” from the greek means “healthy, be healthy, be sound, right accurate, to be correct in one’s views.” What I know is that everyone believes they are right in their beliefs! As Believers, we know what we believe is so important just by looking at James 2:19 alone! (James 2:19 “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that and shudder.” And their beliefs in God do not save them, but condemn them!) Belief is important, but what We Believe must be sound, accurate, right – it must be healthy for our soul! I hope you are looking forward to our 10 week series on “We Believe!”

To get us there: From now until September 13th we will spend 3 weeks in Titus over the topic of “Unfinished Business.” Then we will spend 3 weeks in 1 Timothy “Getting Busy” and then we will launch “Re-Do” a 3 weeks series reminding us of FC3 and our mission: Committing, Connecting, and Caring! We have plenty of moments to grow together in Christ Jesus and HIS Word. I hope you get a chance to be there for all of it.
