We have today…

We often forget how fragile life really is and how short time here is. We get reminders every now and then, but those quickly leave our minds and we are back to living in the moment, but not in the right sense. We are near the end of our “Life On Mission” 6 week series. We have seen through the Scriptures that we ARE to be sharing God’s love purposefully and regularly. The next 3 weeks after Life On Mission we will continue a few more weeks on this idea of telling the Good News! We will spend some time in the book of Luke looking specifically at how Jesus did this and/or called us to this way of living. (Do you get the idea that we want you to share Jesus with others and invite them to church to grow with all of us together? Well you should. 🙂 ) I want to mention a couple of highlights for you to prepare for. The first is our annual Christmas Eve Service. Yes, I know it is just the beginning of October, but I want us to be ready! This year, Christmas Eve will be on a Wednesday. I don’t know what you have planned yet for your evening, but I want to encourage you to come to our Christmas Eve service and there is a great reason or two. One it is a great way to help your family truly celebrate the real meaning of Christmas. The other is that you can use this time to invite others along with you to celebrate the real meaning. Did you know that Christmas time is one of the few times a year when people are VERY likely to attend a church for the first time? Yes, that’s right. So why not make this year different and bless your family and friends, by making plans to attend and invite! Another big day coming soon is Easter (aka Resurrection Sunday!) Yes, I know it is not even Thanksgiving yet, but lets plan and prepare now. Easter is April 5th in 2015…let’s make a deal. If you will give your best effort in inviting co-workers who are unsure about church, family members who don’t attend church and your closest friends who are outside of Jesus, then we will give our best effort to give the best service to God we can so that you are not embarrassed that you invited all of them! We have today…,but tomorrow is uncertain! Act now!!!

  1. I would like to thank you for being our Preacher. You are truly a blessing in my life and I am sure many others. I also wanted to thank our whole church for having Beth Moore in Simulcast at First Christian Church.
